We are finally going to look at daycares on Friday. Jack will be between 12 and 14 months when he starts. Is this a good starting point for questions? I'm guessing most places will give me handouts with this info?
Tuition?
Any credits for vacation?
What does it include? What do I need to supply?
Accepts cloth diapers?
Hours, Any Late charges for late pickup? Security procedures - who can pickup, what clearances/approvals are needed?
Holidays/Inservice Days?
How long has the center been operating? Licensed?
Staff education/background? Background checks? CPR Certified?
What is a typical day like? How are we notified of the day?s activities/behavior?
Adult to child ratio
Sleep schedule/routine? Bottles?
Food policies (make your own, school provided, snacks, peanuts prohibited, etc.)
Eating schedule
Discipline procedures
Sick policy? Giving medication (Tylenol?), Immunization policy, are all the kids immunized

Re: Daycare search
When would he graduate to the next room? He's sort of at an in between age- not a young infant but not yet a toddler. Some places do it by age, some do it corresponding with school in September, some do it by development.
also, turnover of staff. Consistency of caregivers and low turnover is obviously better.
My little nuggets
Ha! You mean you aren't going to send the kids to the office with Eric? It's so empty he could use one room for naps, one for a playroom, etc.
#1 12.11.11
#2 10.23.13 EDD
Seriously! It's not like there is ever anyone in there to care if two kids are hanging out. But unfortunately, that is apparently not an option.
My little nuggets
If they tell you it's against PA regulations to cloth diaper, tell them it's bull cocky. Check their regulations, but it is not against PA health codes to cloth diaper.
..can you tell this is my new fight?
