Recs for lunch in the Strip
DH and I are taking a vacation day on Friday to spend the day together in ligh of our 9 year wedding anniversary being this week. :-)
We plan to go shopping at the Strip District and we are looking for some recommendations on where to go for lunch. We don't want to spend an exorbitant amount of money, and we don't want the typical Primanti's, Wholey's, Pamela's fare.
Thanks!
Re: Recs for lunch in the Strip
I agree about Roland's service, the last time it was atrocious and we had an issue and getting it resolved made my husband never want to go back.
Roland's is very good, especially if Johnny, the Irish bartender, is there. He really takes care of you!
Other options: the Harp & Fiddle, Marty's Market (organic, local food store that also serves food), there's a Thai restaurant that my friend just told me about yesterday - she's there at least once a week, and there are two restaurants right over by Marty's Market as well - I think one is steak and one is Italian, maybe?
I think you should drive around, check everything out and then decide from there! Have fun!
My three sons!
Eleven is also fairly reasonable for lunch, it's closer to the downtown end of the strip, but I've always enjoyed lunch there. I'd also third the Kaya recommendation.
I was just reading an article about a new restaurant going into the strip. Let me see if I can find it.
I looked up Kaya's menu and it sounds wonderful! Unfortunately, DH is more of a meat and potatoes kind of guy. I looked up Roland's website and it seems like it would be a happy medium for us. It sounds like the service wasn't too great for a few of you, but maybe we'll luck out since it will be a weekday.
I wasn't going to put this out there, but since you are leaning towards Rolands I will. We went last month and it was horrid, seriously. DH had a hair in his beer and then another in his lunch. When we said something, she took off the beer and acted all shocked when I said I wasn't paying for his meal either. DH actually got sick over it. He was really angry with how it was handled and actually had to leave while I took care of the bill. But even before that, the service was atrocious and they weren't even busy.
YIKES! Between what you just told me and the fact that only 64% of Urbanspooner's liked it, I think we'll be going somewhere else.
