Indoor Herbs - Potting Size Help

I want to grow a few herbs indoors that I use weekly for cooking so I can save money by not having to buy them at the grocery store.

Basil, Oregano, Cilantro, Parsley, Mint, and Chives

I have a sunny window. This will be a table top garden. But my question is: How big of pots should I get for each one to allow the roots to spread out? I was thinking like 6-8 inch pots. Any thoughts? Also, if you have some growing tips for these, I'd appreciate it. TIA.

Re: Indoor Herbs - Potting Size Help

  • mine is on the front step, but i have a tezcup planter with chives, thyme and parsley in it and they are all doing great.  you might try a bigger pot and putting some in it together.

  • herbs are pretty easy to grow, they don't need a lot of room. i would say at least a 4inch pot. But like pp said, you could put them all together and it would look really nice in a longer rectangle pot or something like that
