I need a WTF Wednesday...

WTF to some of the parents in my class?  Some need to check their attitudes at the front door.  Don't be rude when asking me a question when the information you need was in my welcome letter AND in the weekly newsletter.  Also, please don't believe EVERYTHING your child complains about before talking to a teacher about it.  then I can explain that your child did get yelled at my another child but that's because your child took a toy from her.   Just an example, but it's the crap I deal with before 7 am.

Re: I need a WTF Wednesday...

  • I hear ya there!! I have not missed parents complaining while on maternity leave. I agree about the newsletter and welcome letters too, you put so much work into those things, and parents barely even look at them, then they get upset when they miss information that was stated in like 5 different letters/emails!

  • Gotta love 'em!

We have a field trip coming up and it clearly states that you need to send in a certain amount of money on the permission slip.  It's bolded and underlined.  Of course I had one parent return the slip with no money, so I sent it back and highlighted the section about the fee.  It came back the next day, in the "back to school" section of the folder (so I know they saw it because I had put it in the "take home" side) with no freakin' money.  I sent it back again with a post-it attached saying "please see the highlighted section."  It wasn't in there the following day.
