Booing

We got booed Tuesday night so I  have to get my Boo's out tonight (we had a 2 day timeline) - I know from a previous post some people don't like it, but my son was so excited (and I have to admit I was a little too).  Most of your kids are younger than mine, so maybe it depends on your kids age.  He is definately looking forward to booing his friends in the neighborhood tonight!

Re: Booing

  • My 'hood used to do it, but I haven't seen it in the past 2 years. Not sure if the person who was in charge of it moved, or what, but we miss it!

Note: I guess I could start it on my own - I just don't have the time to bless myself these days, let alone start a project!

  • I blew the deadline on ours, but plan to do it this weekend. We still have a long time before Halloween and we have a small neighborhood, so I'm not too worried. I think if Lanna was into it I would be too, but she doesn't really get it. I feel like they need a shorter more to-the-point poem to explain it to kids. Mid-way through me reading it Lanna lost interest and walked away ;)
  • I am an anti-boo'er.  But it was because when we were exposed to it, we were childless. and the packs had like halloween candles in it. I didn't decorate for halloween aside from a day before pumpkin carving obligation.  So then we had to go leave something on someones porch ourselves which felt lame after we had to run out last minute to find some crap for someone else. Although one year we threw in a couple bottles of beer for another couple in the neighborhood.  and one year, we just re-boo'ed the same bag of stuff to someone else. And a neighbor admitted to having had kept her ghost copy from the year prior so she could avoid participating again the following year. hahaha.
  • I love it and start the Boo every year as part of the Association.  When we didn't have kids, we would Boo one of the other couples we were friends with with a bottle of wine and 6 pack of Oktoberfest.  DD loved it and dressed in all black with DH to go Boo our neighbors!
