low sex drive

Hi, I'm pretty new around here so I thought I would kind of introduce myself along with a question I have.

I'm 27 and have been engaged for about a year. My FI and I have always had a really great sex life and I've had a really high sex drive for as long as I can remember. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 22 and have always been on some sort of bc to regulate my periods. But in Feb. of this year, I had my IUD removed and have had no bc since. I've noticed since then that I feel like I've been pretty moody and just have no sex drive at all. Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be because of the hormone change? I just switched jobs and have no health insurance at the moment so I will have to wait a few months to make an appt with my doctor. But I was just curious if anyone else has experienced this, if it is just because of my hormones changing or if I'm going to be stuck like this forever :( thanks!

Re: low sex drive

  • I also have PCOS and I too have a low sex drive. It comes and goes sometimes when different things are going on in your life and the medication changes. I wasn't on BC for a while and had a really high sex drive but AF was normal. Then AF wasn't so nice to me and I lost my drive. Now on metformin and everything is working itself back.

I think PCOS alone can change things but being on and off medication with it can change it even more due to the hormones. I was diagnosed at 16 so I have learned to adapt along the way. It will get better just give it a little time. I hope this helps!
