We are besties with our neighbors and they just had to put their dog down today. Is there an appropriate thing to get them to let them know that we're thinking about them? I was going to do a card but wdyt about something else? Nothing is really coming to mind. Yes, I realize it's a dog and not a human, but we are closer to our neighbors than we are with most of our family members so I wanted to do something a little above and beyond. Is just a card enough do ya think?

OHHH me likes this! DONE!
Thank you, LD.
My little nuggets
I donated to a Boxer Rescue group in my sister's dog's name when her dog passed and she really loved it.
I know.
Losing a pet is sometimes worse than losing a human. I feel really bad. She was a really great German Shepherd who they recently found out had cancer. She's had it for a while now and was just getting skinnier, and skinnier, and skinnier, and skinnier. She was so very weak and yesterday they made the decision to not let her not suffer anymore. I haven't ever had to make a decision like that but considering we have 2 dogs, I know we may face it at some point in the future. As much as Beef makes me want to take him for walks on I-95 sometimes, I'm going to be on suicide watch when he dies.
Thank you again for the ideas. They couldn't thank us enough for the donation and here my neighbor and her daughter go to the Woman's Humane Society quite often to visit the animals. I'm glad we donated in their dog's name to there.
Exactly this. I dread the day I have to make this decision about our dogs. And I tear up knowing that someone has faced this difficult decision.
We gave our friends a small windchime when their dog got cancer and passed. They really appreciated it.
