Do I have time to change my name before the election?
My wedding is in a few days, with a return back from the honeymoon on Oct 24. Election day is Nov 6, so my question to all of you that have made the switch is will I be able to get the SS card, drivers license (ID now required to vote), and new voter registration in within 2 weeks or do these things take a couple days for processing, etc.? I'm considering just waiting until after the election so I'm not shuffling paperwork and risking not having it all in.

I probably would wait until after the election if you're worried about the confusion...
My husband saved me at the DMV the other day. I didn't realize that I had to renew my license when I got my sticker. That would've been awful if they wouldn't have let me vote because I had an expired license. I don't know if they'd look that closely, but that would've been really bad!
Most normal people would probably make the change to their name and hope for efficiency. But I am not most people; the election is the most important thing to me. I look at RCP ten times a day.
I would just take your time and wait. What's a few weeks in a lifetime of happiness?!!?!?!
Would anyone like some wine with that cheese? I'm feeling particularly ridiculous tonight.

I agree with pp, I'd wait. There's no rush and it would suck if you didn't get to vote.
