I am drawing a mental blank on this! We're having my family over for our annual Pumkin Carving Party this weekend and I have no idea what to serve. It is 8 adults and 5 kids. Party starts at 2, but people usually stay for hours. Normally I do pulled pork sandwiches in the crockpot, chips, spinach and artichoke dip, caramel apples and a cupcake or cookie for dessert.
I just feel like I serve the same food year after year and I wanted to mix it up for this party. So far I've settled on serving a warm crab dip with crackers and pigs in a blanket. I just can't figure out what to do for a main dish.
What would you make to serve a group, but can't be in a crockpot (I need the crockpot for the caramel apples). I have a really yummy loaded baked potato soup recipe that I could keep warm on the stove, but would soup be ok as a main meal for a party? And if soup would be ok I also have a great gumbo recipe that I could do instead/in addition?? See...I can't make up my mind! Someone help!
