Any predictions on tonight's debate

Just curious if any of you have any predictions for tonight.

I'm super excited to watch. I'm expecting a MUCH more REAL debate with TWO fully involved participants so I predict an edge of our seat type debate.

Re: Any predictions on tonight's debate

  • I heard obama is going to be more aggressive just like biden was.  My guess is Obama will win because this is where he shines....i'm really hoping he doesn't act too aggressive.

  • I agree Obama will be more aggressive. He was half asleep in the first debate so the pressure is on him this time around. Mitt knows what to expect so it's hard to say how it will turn out. I can't wait to watch!

I just hope he doesn't go to crazy with the aggressiveness like biden did.  you barely heard Ryan speak.  I believe that was the plan

  • I don't like the town hall formats because they speak to the audience rather than each other, and that leaves much more room for fluff.  I'd much rather they have a toe-to-toe talk like Biden and Ryan where they call each other out on empty and misleading statements.

    Agree with this!

?Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.?
  • I agree with PP's predictions that Obama will come out swinging.  He needs to be more aggressive to make up for the last debate.

I think he'll do a little better with this format than Romney.  I just keep thinking about how people reacted to Mitt's 47% comment and I'm wondering if that will come up or affect how people see him.  In a town hall, I think it's important to relate to the "everyman, " which Romney seems to have trouble with lately.

This is kind of how I feel. I'm surprised they made the Foreign Policy debate the town hall debate. It seems like domestic issues would naturally go well with the town hall format.

Ultimately, it comes down to the questions, and sadly I expect a lot of bad questions. The format really does encourage fluff and might be very very dull.

  • Ditto this as well. Hate town hall debates as it's nearly all fluff. And, I think those asking ?s get all caught up in said fluff and this makes for an even worse debate.
  • What would be a "fluff" question and does anyone know how one is "picked" to be in the audience for a town hall presidential debate?

I think tonight is foreign policy *and* domestic issues - someone tell me if I'm wrong.
