Wild Rice Casserole

Box of Uncle Ben's long grain wild rice, 1 can water chestnuts drained and chopped, 1  8 oz. jar Cheese Whiz, 1 can Campbell's condensed cream of chicken soup. I box frozen chopped brocolli, I have used fresh before just made sure I used an amount close to what's in the box...

I cook the rice according to directions on the box, when it's almost done I put in my brocolli and let it just steam in that pot with the rice, then drain the pot... mix in cheese, water chestnuts, soup and mix well. Put it into the oven on 350 for 35 minutes or until bubbling and beginning to get golden on top...

Re: Wild Rice Casserole

  • That sounds good.  Does it still taste good cold?  Pretty much all large family gatherings are pot-luck.  Just curious if it would still be good after it has cooled off.
  • It's really good and has been a tradition for us since the early 80's. I guess it would be good cold. I'm one of those who likes my warm foods warm and my cold foods cold so I'd probably pop mine in the microwave, Lauren may have eaten it cold, maybe she will have an opinion.
  • That sounds good.  I think I will make that next week.
  • Yum!! Thanks Jane!
