I have a job interview at Piercing Pagoda on Friday and I'm beginning to worry a bit. I've only had one job interview before so I don't quite know what to expect. I'm also getting married in less than three months and going on our honeymoon and I'm afraid that if I tell them all this, I won't be considered for the job. I feel like I'll be requesting off too much and they'll get upset with me. Am I overthinking too much?
Re: Job Interview Worries!
I agree with pp. Be very up front with them. A lot of times companies will ask during an interview if there are any vacations, etc that are coming up. Be honest because if you get the job and on your first day you say "oh, by the way..." They won't take too kindly to that. Don't make it sound like it will be a problem for them either. Make sure you have confidence and they will see that. Although, the one problem may be the time of year. Since this is the hoilday season, a lot of retail companies don't allow time off during certain dates. When they interview you, I am sure they will let you know this. I have been in retail for a long time, and usually this time of year when they are hiring they will let you know what you can and cannot do as far as time off.
Good luck!
