It's early, but "What's For Dinner?"

I was thinking we would have sweet potato gnocchi with a sage butter nutmeg sauce, but our friend Mike just brought over fresh venison tenderloin.  So, I found a marinade recipe online, made it low-sodium and that is marinading away right now.  Jude will grill them up later.

I am thinking some kind of grain under it, and making the marinade into a gravy - and serving with butternut squash.

What are you having?

PS - I am home again, in case you couldn't tell.  I am all about the food when I am just sitting around the house...

Re: It's early, but "What's For Dinner?"

  • Oh, I love gnocchi & sweet potatoes & nutmeg!  But I'm sure the venison will be great, too.

We are having chicken parmesan tonight, probably with the acorn squash that has been sitting on the counter.  Some friends sent us a Harry & David gift basket full of Italian goodies, so that was the inspiration.  I'll run to the store on my way to the airport to pick DH up.  He's been traveling so much lately--I can't wait for him to get home!

     Buen Provecho!

  • We're making BBQ Turkey Tips, Rice & Veggies tonight, I'm still looking for minimal effort after I burned my hand and had a little trip to the ER this past week.

This weekend I'll make a few things for the week, I'm looking for a good american chop suey recipe now.

  • I actually think that Lorne has a good recipe!
  • And what's this about the ER?!
  • I will have to send him a note NOW!

I grabbed the lid of my dutch oven from my counter, forgetting it was still hot since it was in at 375 degree oven for a few hours.  It wasn't that bad, but Pete insisted on going to get it looked at.

  • It's ok now?

    How is Pete feeling?

  • yeah I'm fine, bandaged up and neosporin (Meg's fave) and Pete's finally turning a corner in the cold department.

I actually will have the day to spend with him tomorrow because my grandmother just told me not to come see her, she doesn't want to go shopping with me.

  • What's up with your nana?  That's not really like her, is it?  She loves to see her girls.
  • having chili at a coworker's house and I am making the corn muffins right now
  • Evan's working so I have no idea. I might make some mac n cheese. ?It's so hard just cooking for me. ?Charlotte is having Creamy Chicken and Apple Compote with a veg of some sort. ?She eats way better that I do lately.

  • We are being lazy and having Kashi pizza.
  • Yeah Hazel's not herself these days, but I think she might have pushed too hard the last couple days.
    ?
Update on the what's for dinner, my lovely husband left the turkey tenderloins out too long to defrost and when I opened the package it was pretty much the grossest thing I've EVER smelled in my life. ?We are calling for pizza after spending 80.00 at grocery store?
  • Your dinner sounds delish!  I had plain spaghetti in olive oil with snow peas mixed in.  Eugene had a pizza that he made himself.  I had a slice of it.
