I can't believe I'm even asking this question..
Does anyone have The Bob stroller? My sister SWEARS its the best one. She said she has the City something (can't remember if its the mini or select) and she wishes she never got it and had The Bob instead. Her husband can get it half off so I'm not worried about its price tag right now. Just curious what people think of it and its infant seat adapter.
ALSO...what are peoples thoughts about side by side doubles as opposed to the front to back doubles? The Bob only comes side by side.

Re: The Bob/Double Strollers
haha i love that you are posting this question!
I do not have a Bob but I wish I did, i have serious stroller envy when I go running and see mom's pushing it or on the beach. We have a cheapie jogger for the beach but it does the job and makes it so much easier to push on sand. And being that I have pushed a front to back sit n stand and a double jogger, I prefer the side by side. It still fits through doorways and stuff and it is just feels less bulky, the front to back are just so long and akward, maybe it was just the one I had but I definitely love the side by side so much more.

I'd check out the city select or something similarly high end. You're gonna want to invest in a nice stroller for 100% sure, IMO. It's totally worth it.
Also, personally I always thought side by sides are totally obnoxious even before I had a kid. They're huge, impossible to walk around, and have you ever seen a parent try to open a door pushing one? But that's just me - speaking as a mom of one.
I thought bob's weren't for infants?
Britax b ready came to mind for you.
I don't have a double but I was looking at singles that convert to doubles since we want to have kids close in age.
I agree with LD that side by side doubles are obnoxious. The City Select and one of the Britax ones convert to front-to-back doubles with an accessory kit. We decided to get the City Mini instead because my luck, I'd pay all this money for the stroller and accessories and one kid wouldn't want to ride in the stroller, but we would have gone with the City Select.
I would definitely recommend going to Buy Buy Baby in Cherry Hill because you can see every kind of stroller and test drive them, see how easily they open and close and check the weight.

The Bob has an attachment for infant car seats. At least the single does..I need to investigate if you can do the attachment on a double.

We go lots of kid type places, and I regular have rage when I encounter a side by side double. There is one particular area of the aquarium where I have been tempted to shank a *** with one.

I haven't asked or lurked. I've been avoiding the bump like the plague other than to ask one question but I guess it's time!
JenD - I'll buy lunch if you come and bring your kids as testers for the strollers!

I have a city mini (new) and a bob single (hand me down). I used both in different ways.
The city mini was my everyday stroller for neighborhood walks, travel, shopping for its so easy to handle and very lightweight.
The bob was good for runs, naps on the beach, more active stuff. But it could never be my everyday stroller. maybe new models are better but holy hell that thing is heavy and impossible to fold. we'd look like a comedy routine trying to figure out how to unfold and open it. heck both of us have bled trying to open it. i know this is not normal but uts our experience.
FWIW i opted for the bumbleride indie twin for my double. tho i think you can only have one car seat in at a time? its side by side. no double - heck no stroller- is easy to get through a door with by youself so i am that person who struggles. so be it. its a struggle getting around with 2 small kids. but i prefer side by side as the tandems are too long and harder for me to maneuver. my double fits through standard doors. and i wanted inflated tires and an accessible storage bin. storage bins on the city mini single and double are the SUCK. Theres a bar in front. you cant just drop a bag in. this is why i did not get the double. there are internet rumors the next model wont have the bar.
sorry for lack of caps. 1ht.
I understand but none of us have two tiny babies at once or two toddlers at once out to get you. So you know they might have the edge up in research
I know. You are right. I'll hop to it.

Can I request that you continue to ask some of your questions here. I'm still getting a kick out of you having twins and asking questions about babies. Don't take that from me.
haha. I'm glad I can offer entertainment.

Ditto Amy on the serious rage over SBS strollers. I cannot stand them
I loved my Phil and Ted double, but I think that is better for two kids close in age as opposed to twins. I would definitely look into the City Select
I still cannot believe you are having twins. It seems so exciting and anxiety-inducing at the same time

I seriously loved my snap n go. Loved it.
I had a c/s and it was difficult to lift and maneuver for a little while - and since the SNG is just a frame it's so super light. It was really easy to open and close. It's not the best to use outside if you live in an area with jacked up sidewalks - it doesn't have the inflatable tires - but it was great indoors and throughout suburbia.
i read on the multiples board to not pay more than $50 for a DSNG so i'm going to look on craigslist for that and use that in the beginning. At least now I have a narrowed down list of what to look at as our every day stroller for later. that'll be what i register for.

Craiglist is awesome for all kinds of baby stuff, especially things that are used short term like exersaucers, jumparoos, jogging strollers, etc. And yard sales too!
