We just booked a trip to Disney for this coming February!! We're very excited as it will be my daughters first trip! We got the dining plan this time around so we will have one sit down/table service meal per day. I'm trying to narrow down my options so i can make reservations. So any of you who have been to disney i need your help!!
So far i have narrowed it down to breakfasts at Tusker House (animal kingdom) & also Ohana (polynesian) ... then dinners at Chef Mickey (Contemporary) the Princess Dinner in Norway (Epcot) Mama Melrose as part of the Fantasmic dining package (hollywood studios) & Planet Hollywood as requested by DH (downtown)
This leaves me with 1 sit down meal left on our package. I'd like to either add one more breakfast or switch Chef Mickey to a breakfast or the Princess Dinner could be switched to a breakfast as well & then add a dinner? Please help?? any suggestions welcome!! lol ![]()
**I must add we're all picky eaters!! lol**
Re: Disney Dining help!
great thanks to the both of you for a quick response! I've heard great things about Crystal Palace & am def considering it. Although surprisingly enough my 2.5 year old isn't much into Pooh so i'm still on the fence.
I'm also thinking about maybe 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian for the dinner buffet with the Cinderella cast?

We just went in Sept and it was DD first trip. We did 1900 park fare the day we arrived (didn't do a park that day). I thought it was just ok. Character interaction great but tables were close together and buffet was just so so compared to the other meals we had. The Grand Floridian is stunning inside though.
We did chef Mickeys our last day for breakfast. Hands down my favorite character meal. Maybe because by end of the wee we had the whole thing down pat. Ha. My DD (3) is picky too and she ate great at this buffet.
Cinderella's castle was nice but I am not sure I think worth the 2 table service credits. Tip is already factored in, so I felt our server was just so so. Again compared to other meals we had. Also maybe we were just wiped out from going all day. Our first full day in the park.
You MUST do counter service at Flame Tree BBQ. Well you don't have to but it was wonderful BBQ.
Mama Melrose was VERY good. I think probably our favorite meal of the whole week.
FYI-- we didn't do Epcot this trip. So can't speak for anything there.
Hope that helps.
Another vote for Crystal Palace! It's my favorite of all the character meals.
We really enjoyed dinner in Cinderella's castle. We schedule it around the same time as the fireworks and it's BEAUTIFUL. While it is 2 table service meals you do get your picture with Cinderella for free as well as wands for the girls and swords for the boys. The fairy godmother comes out and does a little sing a long. Very cute.
We REALLY enjoyed breakfast at Akershua Royal Banquet Hall in Epcot. It's a buffet of pastries and fruits and then they do a family style meal served to the table, which is really nice. We liked the food here better than Chef Mickeys. You also get your picture with Belle included. Then all the princess come around to the table. While we liked the food better here than Chef Mickey's we did enjoy Chef Mickey's as well since you get to see all the "classic characters." They are really fantastic there and come around and make sure everyone comes to your table.
