Let's say two things we like and two things we dislike about Governor Romney and President Obama. It can about personality, policy, anything.
Two Likes for Obama: his overall cool demeanor and his specifics on addressing women and family's economic needs. Two Dislikes: wasn't strong enough on Healthcare reform and needs to push energy/environmental issues more.
Two Likes for Romney: Great eyebrows and unintentionally funny. Two Dislikes: His impatience and flip-flopping.
Re: Let's Be Objective
lolol
Obama likes: the man, the legend.
Obama dislikes: speaking style, foreign policy
Romney likes: Romney is a bit more of a conundrum because he's stood on both sides of many major issue at some point in the last 5 years. So I guess I like it when he's supporting the side I agree with.
Romney dislike: eyebrows (you guys are effing crazy, those things are frightening) and used car salesmen disposition.
I gotta go with this.
i gotta go with this as well regarding obama
I mostly succeeded...? I know my likes were a little facetious, but I do like Romney's drive - very admirable. And I do like Obama's economic/social policies.
Obama
Likes: his two little girls are adorable.
Dislike: I will list my biggest dislike....I really hate how he speaks. I also find him arrogant and cold when he speaks. He doesn't come across as genuine to me/that he truly loves this country. He's acts like a snarky fifteen year old boy dressed in a suit. I get the impression that Obama wants to be president for the title alone.
Romney
Likes: I LOVE HIS DRIVE! I think he is brilliant and will make an excellent president! You can tell he really wants to make a difference (at least to me he comes across as genuine) and help this country.
He's also quite handsome!
Dislike: the way he says the word taxes. He pronounces it oddly sometimes.
This is your criticism of Obama? Romney has been running for president since he was in the womb and will literally say anything to win votes. Republican running in MA? Says something moderate. Conservative primary? Says something conservative. General election? Says something moderate. I know all politicians do this to a degree, but Romney is the poster child for extreme flip flopping.
I don't care when people change their view because it's developed and evolved, but I'm surprised Romney doesn't get whiplash from the way he switches back and forth. That man simply wants to be president.
I feel he truly cares wants to get us out of this mess. Oh please with the flip flopping....Benghazi anyone?
At least Romney takes the deaths of Americans seriously.
Obama said he would cut the deficit in half. Did he do that?
My Romney likes are totally facetious
%#@*&! cats! You can't be serious? ALL Presidents care about the deaths of Americans.
It's actually shocking anyone thinks that Mitt is in it because he cares about this country. I truly believe it is a bucket list thing for him. Man wants to be president! That's his goal. It's all about his pride.
I did read that Mitt won't run again if he loses, so I am very hopeful he will never step foot in the oval office as president.
I totally admit that it takes a special kind of ego to even think you deserve to be president. My faves, Clinton and Obama, included.
I do get the vibe that he really cares. Of course, there is a level of pride these people must thrive from but I don't think it's all about ego with Romney. I really don't.
Clinton creeps me out. Ewww!
Obama:
Likes: His eloquence, his ability to play well with others
Dislikes: His stance on marijuana legalization, gay marriage and that he hasn't closed down Guantanamo yet.
Romney:
Likes: His persistance, his loyalty to his family
Dislikes: His flip-flopping and his unwillingness to make a stand on any issue (i.e. "The Buck Stops Here") I can't see him taking full and complete responsibility for any issue.
I would say that about Obama. Benghazi, the economy...
Why? What do you think he could be doing differently?
I always hear/read about how the President has taken responsibility on the economy and the response to the attack in Libya. He again took responsibility during the most recent debate. I'm confused.
Huh?
He's still blaming Bush. Yes. He was handed a problem and I can totally see Obama not getting us out of the mess completely but to make a bigger mess instead of implementing the whole "hope/change" "fixing the economy" is another story. He mentions the Bush administration after adding quite a bit to the deficit himself.
Romney: I like his integrity; I truly think he's a good person who is charitable.
I like his business background and record. He knows what he's doing.
I dislike that he named his son Tagg. And I don't know; he may be a little more big government than I ideally like.
Obama: I like his wife's passion for a healthier youth, although I think the real problem starts at home so I don't necessarily agree with how to get there.
I guess I like his calm demeanor; that can never be a bad thing right?
I dislike the fact that my president is dancing on Ellen and partying with celebrities. Call me old school, but I just think its unprofessional.
I dislike his life mentors and the fact that it was swept under the rug. Who is this man? Just my opinion.
President Obama - Like: He seems approachable. As if you could have a beer with him and be comfortable instead of freaked out that you were sitting with the Leader of the Free world. His family mentality.
Dislike - The way he says "folks" 400 bagillion times. The amount of time he spends with Hollywood types.
Mitt Romney - Like: His success. His family mentality
Dislike: His awkwardness on some issues. The fact that he DOES seem to have run for President his entire life.
Obama's economic policies? Very interesting as I haven't heard anything real and beneficial in terms of economic policies out of this President in four years...
The only like I can come up with for Obama is that he seems to be a good father to his children. There is nothing else I like about him. Nothing...and, it bothers me to say that. I feel he's taken this country to a place that we'll be lucky to get out of. He sat on his hands for far too long and enough is enough with placing blame elsewhere. His actions have resulted in other countries looking down upon us and believing that we are weak beyond belief. I should also admit that he's a good speaker (when he has a prompter) and has a way to lure people into the BS he's spewing...and, sadly, I do believe it's all BS. He was a president elected on hope and change. Nothing more. And, his actions have proven just that. Big words, big hope, empty promises/ Then again, what did we expect from a short term senator with little to no experience in anything else...although, yes, I realize he spent time as a civil rights atty and "community organizer"...think what you will...he did little on someone else's dime. If anyone wanted to be president for the title, it's Barack Obama. If he took this great responsibility seriously, we wouldn't be as worse off as we are now and he'd be spending the majority of his time dealing with the real issues rather than running his Letterman/View Tour.
As for Romney...I don't like the fact that he's not engaging. He's improving on that but has a way to go...let's just say, he's no Obama...or, Obama with a prompter, I guess. I don't buy into the ultra conservative views either...but, as R, I know he needs to defend his position with the GOP. I do not, however, believe he shares such extreme GOP views but I get where he has to come from.
I like and appreciate the fact (very much so) that Romney has experience...on the economy, on budget creation and getting to where we need to go. I think business experience is extremely beneficial; especially in times like these. We have a huge crisis on our hands....and, we need to start fixing this asap. Forget what another 4 years would do to us...another year alone will sink us; if it's not already too late. The sooner someone with some budget experience can get in and do what's needed to start turning this ship around, the better. Face it, had you performed as poorly as BO in your position, you would've lost it by now. Those in business have to make difficult decisions at times - we need that and I believe Romney gets the fact that we simply cannot afford to continue to programs, the handouts, the extensions of UE and so on that we've gotten the American people accustomed to.
Thanks for this post...it was extremely therapeutic.
This is pretty much the point I am at as well.
