19 vials this morning! I was shocked. the tech taking my blood said I was his record high for vials of blood taken.

so yeah.  I feel totally fine though becaue when I give blood they take waaay more than that.

Re: thats a lot of blood

  • Did he need that many?  I hate giving blood, I swear I have phantom veins... obviously they're there... but heck if anyone can get them!

yes 1 for each test they have to run. I guess they're checking my horomone levels, a bunch of other stuff, and to make sure i'm not HIV positive.

  • Holy crap that is a lot of blood. I guess its best that they get as much as they need now instead of you having to go back again.

I would have passed out. But then again, I passed out the last time I gave blood.

  • Whoa thats a lot of blood! Hopefully many of them carry over when you get pregnant and you dont have to do them again. There are a bunch of tests they give you when you become pregnant too like the HIV. Will your insurance company at least covered to get diagnosed? I know you said they wont pay fertility treatment but what about the diagnosis itself?

they will pay most of it...once I hit my deductible. I have a high deductible plan, which has been fine for me up until now because I'm not really ever sick and all my well visits are covered.  so we'll see. even if I do have to pay though I'm not paying full rate i'm paying what the insurance company feels is reasonable. does that make sense?
