If Romney is elected he will be the first President since Nixon to win without carrying his home state, unless he somehow carries Mass. I'm considering "Home" state of residence and not birth, because when you think of GW Bush do you think Connecticut (his state of birth) or Texas (residence and where he was Governor)? Even Nixon is a little tricky because he carried California, the state I tend to associate him, but his state of residence when he won election was New York.
Romney could actually win the election without carrying his Home State (Mass), state of birth (Michigan) or the Home State of his running mate (Wisconsin), although drawing a path to victory for Romney without WI is tricky.
-My son was born in April 2012. He pretty much rules.
-This might be the one place on the internet where it's feasible someone would pretend to be an Adult Man.
Re: If Romney Wins...
Interesting.
Do you think he will carry MA? Do MA voters like him?
Nooooo. No, they do not like him. At all. There is no chance he will win Mass.
There's actually evidence he may be hurting Senator Scott Brown's re-election chances down ticket. But MA is an extremely liberal state, so this could just be MA realizing how dreamy Elizabeth Warren is. *swoon*
The bolded is not true.
Nah, MA is pretty reliably blue. Most of New England is pretty reliably blue, except New Hampshire's often more purple.
Oh good! Brown sucks.
Ugh...to think of that woman as dreamy is painful. Well, I guess that depends on whether or not she's playing the Native American card today or not...
Look at it this way (as a former resident of MA and CT)...I could label a broom a democrat, throw it on the ticket and MA and/or CT would put it info office. That's right...a broom. A freaking broom.
So, you're saying Romney was basically a Democrat when he won in Mass? Because if even a broom labeled "democrat" can win, he couldn't possibly have beat a Democrat, right? Uh...
Since he was practically a Democrat back then, why'd he go and change his views on everything? Could he be, oh I don't know, untrustworthy and lacking in conviction?
My love for Elizabeth Warren is so deep and pure it can't be sullied by any negative comments about her. She's a true Liberal and a true champion of the underdog and the little guy. If only she and Al Franken would have a baby, that baby could unite the planets in harmony for all eternity.
I exaggerate slightly, but I seriously am a fan of hers and am loving the fact she is showing how the Republicans screwed up by not just approving her to head the Consumer Protection Agency.
No, I think the point was simply to get across how liberal MA really is. Every so often they'll wise up (Romney & Brown)...but, "every so often" is really every once in a very great while. Point is...they are as blue as the sky on a bright, sunny day.
As for Romney...he's never been practically a Democrat. He has, however, worked with both sides to accomplish some pretty good things in MA.
I'm a bit lost here. So if they would elect a Democratic broom, how the eff did Romney get elected as a Republican governor?
Either this state is dumb as rocks or Romney is a giant untrustworthy flip flopper. Which one is it?
