hey all

I'm fly, I used to be on here a lot but haven't really been on in a couple of years... I posted in pets, but you MNers are all really smart & helpful... figured it can't hurt.

I think my dog has hives, but I'm not sure & I am not sure what to do. I can't afford to be going to the after hours vet if I don't have to.

He has small bumps all over and his eye is a little puffy. He was throwing up, but has stopped (I hope), and it bumps aren't itchy (or don't seem to be at least)

Ideas? helpful hints? TIA

Re: hey all

  • Hey, Fly.  It's good to see you around.  If you think it's hives, you can give him benedryl as long as he doesn't have glaucoma, hyperthyroidism, cardiovascular issues or pancreatic issues.  You can give him 1mg/pound of body weight every 8-12 hours.  For instance, if he weighs 20 pounds, give him 20mg.  If that doesn't help, I'd go ahead and take him to the vet.
