Nasolabial folds

Also known as parentheses or smiling lines. I suppose I have a mild case, but they're still annoying because they're noticeable even under makeup, and the makeup will crease in them no matter what. I did a little research on how they can be caused. Luckily, I have already stopped smoking, but I also already eat healthy so I'm at a stump. Before I even consider spending bookoos of money to have needles stabbed in my face, I would love to hear if anyone knows of an affordable product that helps. I believe I came across something at a drugstore, but I would prefer some opinions first.

  • I personally think the only thing that works is botox or one of the fillers.

I concur. I haven't tried fillers, but I could probably benefit from fillers in that area, as well as under my eyes and in my frown lines. However, I'll probably go big and get a face lift to solve all my major issues at once. After that, I'll consider fillers and a laser peel.

  • I had fillers for my eye troughs....Restylane.  I know it's not a perm fix but it's worked wonders for me.  If I get two years out of it, I'll be happy.  I had horrible troughs due to losing weight.  And, I've been thrilled with the filler.  Many of the other patients in the practice use them (or Botox) for what you mention...similar results with both according to my plastic surgeon. I paid just over 1K for 3 vials I believe (outside of Boston).
  • Darn, I think y'all might be right though. I don't think creams would give me results I want.
    • It sounds super crazy and I couldn't believe it at first, but I had a few friends try it and I was astounded! Accupuncture- they actually do cosmetic acupuncture at a local place here in Savannah, GA

    • I was shocked at how effective it was and all the other benefits too! I went and my face looks smoother over all, since I was not in anyway shape or form wanting to get botox or a filler.
