Afternoon tea with neighbor
I'm not sure what to title this so it doesn't sound lame.
I was super close with my neighbors who just sold their house and moved across town. We've been trying to get together and hang out because we miss each other.
I went over to her house a couple weeks ago at 3:00 pm and she served homemade quiche, ham, biscuits and white chocolate-cranberry cookies. It was more than a little fabulous! What should I serve when I have her over? Quiche is the perfect answer for this type of in between time, so I'm not sure what else to do since she already did it.
Re: Afternoon tea with neighbor
I wouldn't expect that much food at that time of the day! How about a hot dip and some assorted crackers or pimento cheese sandwich sliders (either one served with fruit). I have a fabulous hot ham dip recipe (I know it sounds weird but it's DELICIOUS) that would be perfect for something like this.
For sweets, just some simple shortbread cookies (or pecan sandies), or if it's during the week and you need to pick up something, maybe some petit fours.
Ditto the PP re: fancy tea things. Very cute. Love 6's Cucumber Sandwich idea. Am not very refined but I imagine anything you do in miniature would be cute.
Am drawing a blank but please let us know what you do!
Also... are you throwing any of your Christmas/Holiday parties this year?
