House Hunting

SUCKS.

We started looking a little while ago, but hadn't really found much we liked. H talked to the mortgage guy last night and I'm not sure what he did or said, but he got our budget up almost $100,000...so now there are real options! We have to keep our house which means there isn't really a timeframe on when we have to find something.

We are looking in West Chester, Media/Middletown, Glen Mills/Garnet Valley, and Marple Newtown/Broomall. We could get so much more for our money in DE, but we're both ready to go back to PA- since you guys are the only ones we know in DE, haha.

I feel like every night all we do is look at houses online. I wish someone would just pop in and say "Here's your new house" and I could just get on with it!

Okay. Rant over.

Re: House Hunting

  • You are right.. house hunting does suck! We were looking for a while and just gave up because we couldn't find that "perfect" place and really didn't want to settle for something we weren't 100% sure about. That is good that you don't have a real timeline for when you have to move. Good luck! Hopefully you will find something soon so that you can have your evenings with your hubby back.
  • I didn't realize you guys were going to move.  are you going to keep your current house and rent it out?

good luck! are you working with a realtor yet?

Yeah. The market tanked after we bought, so we'd never break even if we sold it. There are already 2 houses right next to me renting, and they both found someone right away.

Yeah! We've looked at 2 houses (both in our old price range), but both were a definite NO.

  • Jeff and I sometimes wonder if we could have gotten more land etc if we didn't build a house.  We really just skipped over the house hunting thing.  I would look online... but never went to a house or got a realitor... everyone says how much house hunting sucked so I don't feel like I missed anything.

Good luck though!  WC is a fun area!

Maybe that will happen now with the new budget!

  • I really enjoyed house hunting, H hated it though. Fingers crossed you guys find what you are looking for.
