What is the best indicator of someone's intelligence?
Asking becasue my cousin on FB asserts that someone's political leaning reveals a lot about a person's intelligence.
Re: Opinion: Intelligence
I don't know what the single best indicator is, but I don't think it's political affiliation.
Though I have read that liberals have higher IQs, so it's not entirely baseless!
I don't know if political affiliation necessarily indicates intelligence level, but perhaps the fervency with which a person supports a party might. For example, I know many intelligent people who vote Republican, but I don't know a single smart person who supports Rick Perry.
I totally agreed with Rick Santorum when he said, "We will never have the smart people on our side."
That's right Ricky, no smart person will ever be on your side.
ETA: Whatever he may think, Rick Santorum is not a mainstream Republican. He is fringe. So, I'm not at all saying smart people will never be on the side of Republicans. Although I have to wonder if that was exactly what Rick was implying.
I know plenty of intelligent people on both sides of the aisle.
Poltically speaking, I can usually judge intelligence not by which party they represent but in articulation and critical thinking in a debate/conversation.
For instance, giving clear and concise answers versus non-sensical rants doused with ALLCAPS and !!! Fredalina and I disagree on several key political issues. But I regard her as very intelligent.
