Just got a call from H, his boss will be in Philly tomorrow and is going to stay with us....
Um, what?!
I am not prepared for this at all.
T&P's needed, for my husband, screw the C, I may kill him!
:::this freak out has now concluded:::
Re: I NEED TO FREAK OUT!
omg, can't he get a hotel? If my husband told me that, the choice would be either quit your job or get a divorce. ;-)
Sending thoughts for lots of patience your way.
That is so weird! Even if they are friendly, that still seems to be crossing the line a bit. Good luck to you! Do you have to entertain him all week end? Hoping your husband is feeling up to taking on some of this work of being a good host. And, I would assume the boss knows that your husband is having some health issues which almost makes it seem could be boarderline rude.
GOOD LUCK, NQ!!!!!! You are a better woman than I am!
lol
like i'm coming to the big city i should stay with one of my employees. wtf.
LOL about the ohio comment. Completely unacceptable, but I guess that is not necessarily obvious in ohio.
This reminds me of the plot line of "Cedar Rapids."
First off - the house is spotless and I am exhausted! Now I just need to figure out what to wear to dinner at 7 while I work from 9-5...oh, and I have to paint my nails!
The back story: H is upper management in the company so he works directly with the CEO and they do have a good/friendly relationship. The CEO is in town for a conference which H is also attending. Originally H suggested we all have dinner tonight, which I was happy to participate in. I guess H talked to the CEO's secretary yesterday afternoon and she informed him that the CEO hadn't booked a hotel yet since he had originally planned to fly back to Ohio tonight (aka he was only staying the night because H had suggested we all have dinner). So H felt a awkward about the situation, and because he has a vested interest in the companies finances, decided to offer up one of our spare bedrooms for the night. It really is "so Ohio" and backwards and uncomfortable. I hope the CEO feels the same way and declines (that's the other great part of this whole thing, H offered but we don't actually know yet if the CEO has accepted so the house has to be spotless and ready but it all could end up being for nothing!).
On the bright side, the CEO flies back early tomorrow morning so I don't have to play hostess all weekend. Not that I'd be able to anyway since I have my father's retirement surprise party tomorrow up in CT. I need a day off!
The CEO is a little out there. I don't think he'll see the situation as crossing a line. For example, yes, H's boss knows he is sick. When H told his boss what was going on, the CEO gave him a hug and told H he loved him (the words "I love you" actually came out. How awkward is that?!)...H responded with "I like you very much".
