The Des Moines Register endorses Romney
Re: The Des Moines Register endorses Romney
I thought this was neat and unexpected. There's a back story where Obama didn't want to sit for an interview, then changed his mind. Even one of the editors was on FNS and said that she thought Obama would be endorsed, so this is a surprise.
The conventional wisdom is that endorsements are only interesting and important when a paper switches, like from Obama to Romney.
Howard Fineman tweeted that this endorsement was the first indication to him that Obama might lose the race. A few libs on DK are dispirited---so I say "WINNING."

Yeah I followed the whole "off the record, now on the record" mini fiasco all week. Was super stoked when I saw this, honestly VERY unexpected.
I'm also excited about the Ohio Newspaper poll, which had Obama up by 5 a month ago and is now tied at 49-49.
It's ok, Nate Silver. Perpetuate your fiction that Ohio isn't even a swing state.
Senate: 34/36
House: 54/63 (?)
Governerships: 36/37
All were within his predicted margin of error.
