I am wondering how well this vacuum works and what a good price is for it? Ebay daily deals has it for $220? If you own one--do you like it? Would you buy it again? Thank you!
Re: Irobot roomba vacuum?
I have one of the first models and love it. It works great. It works in a weird pattern and I love watching vacuum, but it does work. I did get it a new filter and battery this year after three years of usage, but it is worth it. 220 seems like a good price, but do check prices around. check amazon.
I love it and would recommend it.
I was going to buy one and I was comparing it to other brands. I ended up buying a Neato. They have a stronger vacuum (suction) than the Roomba. The Roomba is a little more of a sweeper. I still go around the walls once a week just for good measure.
I've got 2 cats and a dog in an apartment and work/school full time as does FI. I got the Neato to run while I clean or do other things (or to run while i'm at work). It runs once a day.
I haven't had any problems with it. Needs a little less maintenance than the Roomba (not needing daily cleaning of brushes, etc) and I got a killer deal. At 50% off it was still cheaper than the Roomba I wanted and ended up working lots better. Woot.com does deals on these a lot.
Check out reviews of different brands on youtube. You can see them in action and a lot of people will put them against each other. It's ultimately why I chose the Neato over a Roomba.
I would love a Neato, but you can't be $25. I'm debating between buying a new battery, or selling it and putting the money towards a Neato.
I got mine from Woot.com. they do specials on them randomly. It was a $600 one at 50% off ($5 shipping). So, in the scheme of things I thought I was getting a pretty good deal. Watch those and groupons, etc.
Mine runs about an hour before needing to be charged. In my apartment it will get all but essentially the bathroom (or that size of a space) done before needing to charge. I've started just sweeping the bathroom and closing it off so it doesn't have to run again later.
