Peeing kitty

Hey! We currently have three cats, one precious lab puppy, fish, aquatic frogs and a turtle. I know, a zoo! However, our oldest kitty whose now like 9 years old, likes to pee in both bathtubs, in the laundry room next to her litter box and even on our master bathroom shower door. lol

When she was younger she would pee when she was upset, but now she just pees I think to aggravate us. lol Any tips? I've tried just about everything over the years!!

  • You need to take her to the vet ASAP! It might be a medical problem that can become serious if left untreated.

How long have you had the puppy?

  • is it a small amount of urine, or a lot? if its a small amount it could be a UTI. If so, take her to the vet.

Have you changed the type of litter you use recently? I changed the litter I used once and my cat did not appreciate it- she peed on the bed and rug to show how annoyed she was with me!!

This.  Also, it could be a sign of anxiety.  We recently put 2 of our cats on antidepressants and it has made a huge difference.

Be sure you have enough litter boxes and that they are scooped daily.

  • Have you ever had your cats urine tested for an infection? If you've ruled out medical problems you can suspect it's behavioral. Cats are so finicky, it could be anything from placement of litterbox to new pets or people in the house.
