Halloween

So apparently our town reschedule Halloween for Friday and kids are allowed to trick or treat only from 6pm-8pm. When did rules happen for Halloween? I remember as a kid trick or treating from the time school got out until 9pm and I dont ever recall Halloween being rescheduled. Could it be from the storm or is this normal?

I'm guessing if it just happened its from the storm, but I know alot of people who say their neighborhood does it on the Friday/Saturday before/after.  I know I never trick or treated except for on Halloween, so I'm not sure when that started.  When we talked to my SS on the phone last week, the ex asked if we could talk to SS on Tues/Thurs this week because they are "trick or treating on the actual day" and I thought duh, why wouldn't they be?

The date I'm sure is different because of the storm. As for the time restrictions I always remember it that way.trick or treating was from like 6 - 8:30

There were always restrictions down here.  Some neighborhoods would do it on the weekend so kids didn't have to be out and about on school nights.

I kind of felt bad for my neighbors, they didnt know it was moved so they set up their lawn chairs in the front with a huge bowl of candy and were sitting there waiting for TorTers and after nobody came for about 20 minutes I told them it was moved. I didnt want to tell them earlier in case kids were coming around but nobody did.
