Anniversary Restaurant Recs?
Hi ladies! I don't post much on the nest much lately, so "hi!" to all! I know that you all have some great advice/ideas for restaurants, so let's hear them! DH and I are going out soon for our 5 year anniversary and I am in need of recommendations for a restaurant. Pricey is okay, but good food is most important. TIA!
Re: Anniversary Restaurant Recs?
In Baltimore/DC, I've heard good things about The Prime Rib. DH and I were also thinking about going to Fogo de Chao for our anniversary, but decided not to.

One of my friends just went to The Prime Rib and loved it. She's also a big food snob so I would trust her review.
We thought Fogo was just okay. We were glad we went during Restaurant Week so we didn't have to pay the full price. The meats were disappointing (tough, fatty and we'd ask for medium and get either well done or raw) and while the salad and sides were okay, it definitely wasn't worth the price.
Good question...we are in Ellicott City, but we travel a bit. Baltimore (suburbs too), Annapolis, and even toward DC would all be fine. I don't want to go North of Baltimore up 95 (Harford County) although I can't think of much in that area anyway, except for chains (from Bel Air originally). We generally go to the Milton Inn for specail occasions. last year we went to Elkridge Furnance Inn, but I wasn't that impressed with my meal.
Milton Inn is a favorite of ours.
Woodberry Kitchen in Mt. Washington. It's so yummy! And they're farm-to-table so everything is really fresh. I had the cherry porkchop when I went and it was amazing. DH had the soft shell crabs and said they were the best he's ever had. I would definitely recommend it!

Ditto. My family has been going here for years for special occasions. The same people have worked there since the 70s (the family is from spain). It feels so old school and the service is wonderful.
In Baltimore: Aldo's
In Annapolis: Level, Jalape?o's, and India's
In DC: Tosca
We love The Melting Pot (lots of locations) but it's not for everyone.
High End: Charleston, Antrim 1844, or Oregon Grill
Italian: Aldo or Cinghale
Unique: Volt
Generally Good: Tark's, Dogwood, Salt, Jack's Bistro
DC - Founding Farmers, Oyamel (Mexican tapas...so yummy), Acqua Al 2 (incredible Italian), Posto, Brasserie Beck
HoCo - Ranazul, Sushi King/Sono, Melting Pot (also in Towson and Annapolis)
Wow Ladies! Thanks for the excellent recommendations! There are definitely some great ones on this list. DH and I will have to have some date nights lined up in the coming months to check some of these places out!
Smange - I forgot about Founding Farmers. My friends went there about a month back and RAVED about it. This may be my number one choice!
I am also thinking about Cinghiale, Charleston, and The Woodberry Kitchen.
I will post a review of whatever place we decide upon.
Out of the suggestions though, I think Woodbury Kitchen and Charleston are way better.
We went to Founding Farmers in DC last Spring and it was good, but very scene-y IMO. I did not feel intimate or date-y at all, but it would have been a blast w/ group.
The food is good and reasonable.
DH and I went to the Prime Rib a couple years ago for our anniversary and it was excellent.
The Oregon Grille is also excellent (might be too far north for you).
This year we went to Fleming's and it was great! Pricey, but totally worth it.
