Cleaning the couch

So I never noticed how bad my couch arms were until I saw a photo and they look absolutely disgusting! We don't have those like arm covers from fabric, so its just the couhch fabric. I managed to clean one ok. But short of buying one of those expensive steam clean machines that cleans it-- is there something I can do the clean them?

I believe some stains are food stains or grease from my lovely husband who tends to eat on the couch and put his plate on the arm of the couch...

Re: Cleaning the couch

  • Walmart had steam cleaners you can rent and the upholstery attachment you add on.
    CJ :-)
  • I have a pet, so when my arm couches get dirty I use our spot cleaner with some Melaleuca cleaner in it; But before we got the dog, we used Resolve carpet cleaner and a soft bristle brush on the couch. If you go that route, though, make sure you test a spot first, you wouldn't want your couch to end up splotchy. Past that, even just regular soap may help if you put a LOT of elbow grease into it...
  • I've had similar issues at my house. I use this great little portable steamer and it works great. HTH
