Can a 3 year old have a headache?
Maybe this is a stupid question. DD has been complaining about her head hurting today. She hasn't fallen or hit it or anything like that. Do small kids get headaches? Is that normal? It's just a new one for me.
Re: Can a 3 year old have a headache?
Lanna gets a lot of headaches. The dr said unless it's disturbing her sleep or play, it's probably nothing more than that she's headache prone (just like adults, some kids just get them more). He prescribed just plain Tylenol or Motrin, but she won't take it.
If she's been sick, fever or sinuses can do it too.
So can eyestrain, so I'm going to take Lan to the eye dr soon. She's due before she starts K anyway, and she seemed to not do well on her vision screening at the pedi's. She also hates 3D (another possible sign of a vision problems).
Thanks. I shouldn't have googled. Things about brain tumors and meningitis came up!
I don't know why they couldn't. DD started around 3or so (probably because she could express herself now) telling us occassionally that her forehead hurts. I've taken it to mean she has a headache. I will offer tylenol and after a little bit she'll tell me it stopped hurting. I just have to be careful because she loves medicine so sometimes she just says she isn't feeling well to get it now! But she usually says something general and not so specific as her forehead hurts.
If she's just saying her head hurts, just give some tylenol and see how she is! I'm sure it's just a simple headache!
