Wow! I feel like a new woman!

Man, oh, man...why did I wait so long to go to a chiropractor?  I was a chiropractic virgin (LOL!) before today.  I have been having severe neck pain and pretty bad back pain for about 2 weeks now.  I never have pains like this so it was unusual for me.  I kept thinking it would go away, but never did.  There were nights when I was practically in tears when I got in bed.  It has been soooo hard taking care of a 20 pound baby everyday by myself with that pain.  I figured that it was probably from lugging Caleb around on my hip all the time.  Anyway, I finally went to a chiropractor that my neighbor recommended and WOW I feel great!  He was AWESOME!  He took X-rays of me and was shocked to see how out of whack I was.  He said that it appeared as though I had been in a car accident and gotten whip lash!  My rib cage was even out of line.  He did alot of agjustments on me (which, btw, freaked me out to the point of tears....having my neck and spine twisted, jerked and cracked was very scary...I kept thinking OMG he could paralyze me if he did something wrong)  Anyway, I also had electric stim which felt weird, but good.  I was there for 2 hours...he had to do alot to me and said that he doesn't know how I've been living like that and not complaining more.  He said that it most likely was the result of being pregnant and then carrying a heavy baby around on top of that made it worse.  I go back Monday and then again a few more times.  Anyway, just wanted to say that if you've never been to one and are having problems, GO!  It really helped me.  And, if you live in Hsv, I highly recommend Dr. Fauld (Fauld's Chiropractic in Hampton Cove).

  • i'm glad you posted this. i was actually thinking about going to one. i've been having a lot of back pain recently.
  • I went for several visits and loved the machines but once I got on the table with the dr I hated it. I was sore for about a week. I have sessions already paid for but I am in no hurry to go back.
  • I have always thought about going but am too freaked out about the neck twisting thing!!!   Glad to hear it worked for you though!

  • Yes, the neck twisting thing really got to me.  I almost wanted to stop.  It was really hard for me to relax and let him do what he needed to do.  I just kept reminding myself that it would be worth it in the end if it makes the pain go away.  He did tell me to expect to be sore tomorrow though.  That will suck, but I'm believing that after I complete all my visits it will be worth it.  The worst part is that our insurance isn't covering any of it b/c we haven't met our deductable.  The visit today alone was $200.  Eek!  The follow-up visits are going to be about $80 each.  He wants to see me 4-6 more times.  Agh!  And, of course, it's the end of the year so once we meet the deductable, it will be January and will start over.  Blah!  I just keep thinking about how many Christmas presents I could be buying with that money!
  • It's amazing what they can do to help!  My back pain has improved so much since visiting a chiro here who uses the Pro Adjuster machine.  I have only gone three times this year!  That's such a huge change from about 10 times a month with the manual adjustments.  It's also amazing that our spinal adjusts itself in whatever shape so that we can stand up straight.

I'm so glad you got some relief!!!  It sucks to be in such pain and taking care of the baby and others. :-)  You're such a trooper!

  • girl...I could not work in the field that I do...if it was not for good chiropractic care!!  I am a believer in it......I lived in so much pain with my scoliosis....and it has been a life saver!

I am so happy that you decided to go.  It will blow your mind how much it really helps :)
