Re: Yes, it's a video but
It's a bit of campaign rhetoric. 22 seconds of it. Inflamatory somewhat, but that's what campaign rhetoric has become in most cases these days. It is a blip on the radar.
I do have to ask, though..."revenge" on what? Obama has held office for the past four years and the country sucks...how can we seek revenge (by voting) on a party (Republicans) that hasn't been in the Oval Office.
Obama's rhetoric in the final days has come off lame and desperate, whether it's the Big Bird/Binders/Bayonet attacks, his call for a Secretary of Business, or this "voting's the best revenge." It's a low campaign and trashy even if it may be successful.
I liked Romney's rejoinder at the huge West Chester rally: vote for love of country, not revenge.
I disagree heartily with the bolded, to the surprise of exactly no one. I think people are pretty entrenched by now in their candidate choice. So, of course, I find Romney's rhetoric in the final days to be lame and desperate. I mean, seriously. Whether it's the dog on his roof, or his millions in the Caymans, he is so low and trashy.
I didn't bother watching the video in the original post, but I just wanted to counter your assertions about Obama's lame rhetoric with some equally compelling commentary on Romney.
While you don't agree politically with Romney - you can't make the jump to "low and trashy." Even Obama, in one of the debates, said he was a good guy and a good family-man.
Why do you see Romney as trashy?
agreed. if binders and big bird are the best he can come up with, that's lame.
He doesn't have much of a record to rave about so he's resorting to focusing on negative campaigning. I noticed that Obama seems nervous this week when he is speaking. I think he is realizing this can be over for him. I guess I would be nervous in his shoes too though.
If you actually think "binders and big bird are the best he can come up with," than you reaaaally have not been paying attention. Not that I actually thought you had been paying attention, but thank you for making it so obvious.
I've heard many an eviscerating condemnation of Romney. It's cool if you want to not agree with them, but to pretend its all big bird and binders is crazy ignorant.
Just another libo-*** spewing snark on a message board. Next.
I've had it with the "oh, if you don't agree with a bunch of liberal bitchy women on a message board, you must be ignorant or not thinking clearly."
By the way, are you a moron? In your counter, you were talking about things OBAMA AND HIS SURROGATES ARE SAYING ABOUT ROMNEY, not his rhetoric. Try to get it straight.
And what you said wasn't snarky?
Just another Republican being a hypocrit.
All of you guys are showing your true colors tonight. Is there a full moon out? Election nearing making you all crazy? The fact that you can't have a simple debate without calling someone a b?tch is very telling of your character.
But, HOW DARE I CHALLENGE YOU?!? Right?
Sorry, hypocritE. I post from my phone, it sucks.
But if you leave then who will periodically post political polls readily available on the internet?
What do you mean we are showing our true colors?
Sorry I should have been more specific. Not you cats, just ML and AB tonight.
No problem. I have a feeling we might all get along better after the election. I think we all get crazy at times and defensive about our favorite candidate. I know I have lol
can you let me know of what he really has come up with that's not lame? please enlighten me? btw I'm not ignorant, thanks for name calling
can you let me know of what he really has come up with that's not lame? please enlighten me? btw I'm not ignorant, thanks for name calling
Anyone else picture Cartman yelling 'Respect my authority!'
LOL. You are killing me, AB. I hate laughing this hard so early in the morning.
Also, are you a moron? I said Romney's rhetoric was lame and desperate (using words you used to describe Obama's campaign), and then in the next sentence, I stated the dog on the roof and the millions in the Cayman Islands made him low and trashy. I did not say his dog abusing and $$ were his rhetoric. ARE YOU A MORON? CAN YOU READ?
Lawl.
The real Julie comes out to play.
Are you pulling my leg here, Vlagrl? In one breath you claim to not be ignorant, and then in another you act as if the only thing Obama supporters have against Romney is "Big Bird! Binders! Big Bird! Binders!"
I have read, disagreed with, agreed with, and debated plenty of complaints against Obama. I don't go around pretending that all Romney is spouting in these final days is, "Horses and Bayonets!"
You frequent this board as much as anyone, so if you haven't read or absorbed any of the complaints against Romney, than YES, you are ignorant.
