Yes, it's a video but

I'm curious to know what people think of this...

We should be voting for who will best lead all of us not who will get revenge on people doing better than you.

Re: Yes, it's a video but

  • It's a bit of campaign rhetoric. 22 seconds of it. Inflamatory somewhat, but that's what campaign rhetoric has become in most cases these days. It is a blip on the radar.

I do have to ask, though..."revenge" on what? Obama has held office for the past four years and the country sucks...how can we seek revenge (by voting) on a party (Republicans)  that hasn't been in the Oval Office.

  • revenge on what?  would be my question as well.  3 more days!

  • I believe he is saying take revenge on the fact that Romney doesn't give two shits about the poor or the middle class, as stated himself, but I could be wrong.

  • Or revenge on a Republican congress that has done everything in its power to keep anything from passing that would have helped this country. I could be wrong there too.

  • Obama's rhetoric in the final days has come off lame and desperate, whether it's the Big Bird/Binders/Bayonet attacks, his call for a Secretary of Business, or this "voting's the best revenge."   It's a low campaign and trashy even if it may be successful.

I liked Romney's rejoinder at the huge West Chester rally: vote for love of country, not revenge.

I disagree heartily with the bolded, to the surprise of exactly no one.  I think people are pretty entrenched by now in their candidate choice.  So, of course, I find Romney's rhetoric in the final days to be lame and desperate.  I mean, seriously.  Whether it's the dog on his roof, or his millions in the Caymans, he is so low and trashy.

I didn't bother watching the video in the original post, but I just wanted to counter your assertions about Obama's lame rhetoric with some equally compelling commentary on Romney.

While you don't agree politically with Romney - you can't make the jump to "low and trashy." Even Obama, in one of the debates, said he was a good guy and a good family-man.

    .

He doesn't have much of a record to rave about so he's resorting to focusing on negative campaigning. I noticed that Obama seems nervous this week when he is speaking. I think he is realizing this can be over for him. I guess I would be nervous in his shoes too though.

I've heard many an eviscerating condemnation of Romney.  It's cool if you want to not agree with them, but to pretend its all big bird and binders is crazy ignorant.

No problem. I have a feeling we might all get along better after the election. I think we all get crazy at times and defensive about our favorite candidate. I know I have lol

LOL.  You are killing me, AB.  I hate laughing this hard so early in the morning.

Also, are you a moron? I said Romney's rhetoric was lame and desperate (using words you used to describe Obama's campaign), and then in the next sentence, I stated the dog on the roof and the millions in the Cayman Islands made him low and trashy.  I did not say his dog abusing and $$ were his rhetoric.  ARE YOU A MORON? CAN YOU READ?

  • Are you pulling my leg here, Vlagrl? In one breath you claim to not be ignorant, and then in another you act as if the only thing Obama supporters have against Romney is "Big Bird! Binders! Big Bird! Binders!"

I have read, disagreed with, agreed with, and debated plenty of complaints against Obama.  I don't go around pretending that all Romney is spouting in these final days is, "Horses and Bayonets!"

You frequent this board as much as anyone, so if you haven't read or absorbed any of the complaints against Romney, than YES, you are ignorant.
