I was just checking out the elfster site and I'm super excited about all the people who are participating, yay!!

I have one concern though and I know another poster mentioned this before; the cost to ship something from the US to Canada (for a small package) is around $30 (i looked on the USPS website) and I'm assuming it's around the same for a package going from Canada to the US.

Would it be possible to make a second Elfster exchange for people who are in Canada? This way we are all shipping to our home countries and no one has to pay a fortune to shi pto another country?

If people from Canada have already said yes to the original one, then they can change their reply and then go to the second exchange and accept that invite instead?

  • For me.. (I'm in Canada) it won't deter me.. I think there's only 2 maybe 3 of us... so that makes for a bit of a small exchange... and wasn't this supposed to be like a secret santa kinda thing? I thought that was why the card option was added... If you can mail it in a small bubble envelope as opposed to sending a boxed package it's a lot cheaper as well... then you can just pay standard postage rates...

I had this concern being one of the people in canada...and brought it up earlier, which I beleive was one of the reasons the "just a card" (or something flat) was added as an option. I'm good with sending something to US as long as I can mail it in a normal envelope because I was one of the ones concerned about shipping...its not that much to mail something flat. I'd rather just recieve/send a card then be unable to participate for being in Canada :).

  • I'm not going to be disappointed if *all* i receive is a card! I just wanna participate :) Lots of times there's flatter ornaments you can get that would fit inside a card.. it doesn't have to be anything extravagant!

  • Sounds good to me ladies! I was just bringing up some concerns that it seemed like people had when this was first mentioned :)

  • I have several ornaments that are flat most of them are a metal but still able to fit in an envelope. I think it would be fine to do something like that if you could find it.
