Thanksgiving into Christmas Decor Help

Hey Ladies

We were asked to host Thanksgiving at our place this year and I?m trying to figure out how to set the scene. DH and I are BIG Christmas folks and we start decorating pretty early so I was wondering if any of you had ideas on how to tastefully decorate for Thanksgiving when Christmas d?cor is also in preparation. Waiting until after Thanksgiving to decorate for Christmas is not an option due to our schedules but any other ideas are welcome.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Thanksgiving into Christmas Decor Help

  • Maybe the dining room could be Thanksgiving decorations only until Thanksgiving is over? I'm not much help because to me the two decorations don't mix at all in my mind. So I'm not much help.
  • If your Christmas decorations are gold, I see no problem incorporating gold and autumn-hued decorations in for Thanksgiving.  Maybe some leaves painted gold and gold candles.

I've also seen a lot of silvery-themed autumn decorations this year, so perhaps silvery pumkins could be mixed in. In fact, Pinterest had pumpkins sprayed with spray adhesive and then rolled in silver glitter.

    Good luck :)

  • Decorate your house how you want whenever you want.  Santa shows up at the end of Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, so I see no reason why he can't be at your Thanksgiving dinner.

  • My Aunt has both her trees up and christmas all over the house a week or two before Thanksgiving.  The dining room does have placemats and napkin rings that are more thanksgiving-like...but truthfully - the whole house is already christmas.

Nobody cares/notices. We all love christmas too!
