So....my house was broken into

On Friday. I went to let the dog out and both of our french doors popped open, when only one should. The other one has two pins that go into the door frame keeping it locked. I realized that the pin was sticking out of the top and completely bent in half. I looked around and nothing seemed missing.

When Chris got home later and did a futher inspection, he realized someone was in the house and stole all the change from our change jar, (left the jar) and $100 bill from his drawer and tossed our entire closet. None of our 4 flat screen tvs, my Nikon camera, or sony camera or any of CHases 3 game consoles were missing.

We didnt report it to the police because it was only $150 and there wasnt any permemant damage to the house.

Fast forward to yesterday. Im moving things around in the back bedroom where we are storing packed boxed to be moved into the POD. The lid of a box is popped off and i put it back on and pick it up to move it and I realized it was way too light. I opened it again and every one of my photo albums and most of my picture frames are gone. My wedding album, proof book, Trash the Dress album, honeymoon album (which I dont have backups for), Chases baby pictures, vacation pictures, pictures of my dad that can no be replaces are all gone.

Who leaves every peice of electronics and steals pictures of someone else? WTF?????

Im more pissed over our honeymoon pictures than anything else. My computer crashed and I only had the album full of pictures.

WTF?

  • why oh why would they have taken picture?!! I am sooo sorry this happened to you.

my house in college was broken into so I know how uneasy knowing thats happened in your home can make you feel.

  • That's awful- I'm SOOOOOO sorry. When our house was broken into last year the only thing I cared about was my computer since it had pictures. The material stuff doesn't matter- but feeling like you were violated is the worst feeling in the world.

But. Your break in is weird- why would they take your albums, but not electronics?

  • wtf?? that is so weird.  i'm so sorry that stuff got stolen :(
  • Im afraid they got interrupted and will be back. Good luck getting past the dog who is roaming the house now. Shes got these crazy eyes when she is nervous that make most people take a few steps back.

Thankfully, I just found my honeymoon pictures that I uploaded to a specialty printing site.

I just hope whoever broke in dosent come back. Its a very erie feeling.

  • Oh man...that stinks.  It's weird knowing someone has been thru your stuff.  I would contact the police anyway.  That way if more things show up missing, it'll be on record.  Plus if they catch anyone nearby, they could link them to your house.

Glad you found your honeymoon pictures.

  • Honestly the fact that they took the pictures makes me really uncomfortable, like they are pyscho or something. I would definitely report it to the police.

See thats makes what makes me uncomfortable. I am by no means stalker-worthy, but its still creepy as *** to even fathom.

I'm so sorry that happened to you!!

  • The first thing I thought of was maybe you have a stalker.. why else would someone want your pictures? I would report it to the police just in case.
  • My aunts house was burglarized 2x in 2 days.  They came back b/c they think someone rang the bell & scared them the first day.  They only took things they could carry...money, change, jewelry, etc b/c they were walking.  I would do a thorough check in your house.  Just a month ago, she remembered something she had in a drawer and it had been taken.

  • I am so sorry!

I really think you need to report this.

  • I feel so bad for you!  That must be so eery (sp?), esp with the photo thing.

  • DH is kind of freaked out about me being out after dark now. Everyone seems to keep coming up with the same theory. Stalker. I mean, its 2012, this is not a crime show and Im not a celebrity or rich and Im just average looking if not a bit overweight. What would posses someone to stalk me of all people?

I dont post a lot on Facebook, so I dont draw a lot of attention to myself.

    I just dont get it.
