I will start this by saying - I've only had 1 family doctor my whole life. 1! This is just weird to me. I was thinking about finding one closer to us, because when I'm sick I don't feel like driving an hour to see my doctor, 1.5 hr coming from work. But whenever I look, I get overwhelmed. I did look when I lived in Abingdon/Bel Air, but no one was taking new patients.
Well, my doctor sent a letter out stating that starting January, he will no longer be with the practice and he's going into urgent care medicine.
I know I'm being a baby, but he's the only family doctor I've seen. He's like part of the family since we all go to him, he knows us ALL...
So a few questions:
Any sugguestions or practices to avoid in the North East/ Elkton area? I heard the practices in the old Elkton walmart were actually really good...
Do I just call, see if they are taking new patients and just sign up? Or do I go meet them? Get a wellness check up or something? (see - I have no idea lol)
Re: Looking for a Family Doctor

YUP! And now I'm lost lol.
I'm no help because I see a dr. in kimblesville and I don't like him at all.

I'm looking at a practice in Elkton, seems to have good reviews. I just get overwelmed with too many choices. I'm looking up my provider list, and checking reviews online. I know if I put it off I'll get sick and go to the urgent care for double the copay.
If you don't like him why not switch?
eh I go like once a year and sometimes I don't even have to see him I see his partner. so basically i'm to lazy

Ohhh! He was on my "maybe" list along with Dr Monteleone who also got really good rating. Thanks!
