Thanksgiving vaca suggestions??

Hi girls...Haven't been on here in awhile....busy busy!!!

Okay...so we want to get away for 2 or 3 days around Thanksgiving.  Problem is, i love little mountain, away-from-the-city places where we're surrounded by nature (e.g., Arrowhead) while dh loves hotels that are next to/near by his favorite hot-spots (e.g., best buy, chili's, movie theaters).  We always have trouble compromising, and being L.A. newbies (only been here 2 years) we still don't know all the good places to get away.  I know it's kind of a lot to ask---naturey-based hotels + normal restaurants/shopping places----but if anyone has any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated!! I guess 2 or 3 hours away is probably what we'd be looking at (we're in North Hollywood).  Thanks for reading!!!

  • What about Santa Barbara? I think it is gorgeous and you are still surrounded by a lot of nature and things to do---but they still have "city things" like popular restaurants.

  • DH and I spent our one year anniversary at the Tenaya Lodge in Yosemite - I don't know if it's 5 Star - might have been. Check them out online. You get the wilderness feel with all the amenities :) Plus, I think it was only a 3.5 hour drive :)

  • Has nothing to do with Nature, but before we had Jacob we went to Vegas for the weekend, the rooms are cheap and it is not crowded. ?My bday is thanksgiving weekend, so that would be more of a reason for us to go.

    I haven't been there since Feb 2006?
