Dyson DC37 Animal Canister?
My old Dyson that I've had for 7 years is starting to fail. I've
been wanting to get an animal version anyway. I'm torn between the
canister style and the upright though. I have hardwood in the main
living areas and wall to wall carpet in the bedrooms and large family
room. Will a canister vac be able to handle a lot of carpet or should I
stick to an upright?
If anyone has this model and can weigh in I would greatly appreciate it!!

Chasing a Rainbow: The Chart/The Fruit
I have the regular canister (not the animal version) and for me, it's a much better option. I had an upright before (not a dyson, though) and I found it really difficult when using the handheld tools. In fact, it kept tipping over and chipping my walls. We have limited carpeting, but as long as you're careful about de-activating the brushing thingy, it's great on hardwood.
I can't comment on the animal version, though. Our dog doesn't shed, so we just bought the regular vacuum.
Good luck in your search!
