BODICE
Ivory lace bust featuring a sweetheart neckline with 2 custom-purchased sashes. The first is 3 inches thick, white, and wraps around the entire waist. The second "sash" was in fact a 4-inch paisley-shaped crystal headband on a half-inch thick piece of ivory ribbon. The second sash runs through the direct center of the white bottom sash and sits on the left-hand side of the hipline beneath the left breast.
SKIRT
The skirt is connected to the dress, and begins with a continuation of stunning layers of lace below the waistline. As the eye's attention draws downward, the bodice lace fades into a floor length, A-line silk chiffon gown.
The premier feature of this Waddell dress is the three tiers of 6-inch lace that drape from hip-to-hip until they flow into an identical ribbon of lace at the bottom of the gown. This extraordinary detailing provides an unparalleled beauty in the movement of the dress as each lace tier seems to melt into another with every step.
The frontal still shots of this creation do not provide an accurate depiction of the dress's effortless flow and ethereal feel. The gown is light, airy, and perfect for a bride who does not wish to feel weighed down by her attire.
BACK
The dress features an A-line silhouette, which allows for a beautiful natural look as well as a twist on traditional elegance. The back features shoulder-to-thigh length buttoning, which secretly hide an easy-access zipper enclosure.
The end-line of the button detail flow into the most special part of the dress: three-tiered lace embroidery that is gathered to slightly mirror the unique lace features in the front. The gathering of the fabric creates the illusion of a cascading waterfall, which effortlessly flows once again into the bottom of the garment.
If desired, additional tulle or petticoats can be added to both the skirt and the backside bustling to augment the shape of the dress.
DRESS ALTERATIONS
As mentioned, this dress was ordered in new condition on June 2012 and arrived in Boston on October 7, 2012. It was shipped directly from Judd Waddell's showroom in New York City and has only been tried on once. Thus, the dress has not been touched by any kind of alteration and maintains its original shape, color, designer condition, and tagging.
VEIL / HEADPIECE DESCRIPTION
Judd Waddell customizes each of his veils to the dress, and this gown is no exception. The mantilla veil falls hip-length and replicates the exact pattern and size of the lace on the dress. The hairpiece best attaches right below the crown of the back of the head, where it can cover one's shoulders if needed under circumstances that require modesty.
PRESERVATION METHOD
Since arriving at the bridal salon, gown is being stored in several layers of garment bags in a private locked room reserved for purchases only. It will not be cleaned before it ships unless the client would appreciate a complimentary cleaning.
