How was your weekend?

Mine was alright.  Friday night was H finishing up his project in the shop (thank GOD it's almost done), Saturday was loading the project to get it sandblasted, Saturday night we went to a bull riding event and today the project is getting painted in our shop.  Can anyone tell I'm ready for my weekends to NOT be all about what H wants to do?  I think I'm going to make his ass go shoe shopping next weekend.  OH WAIT, I'm hosting his family's Thanksgiving.  LOL.

I currently have balsamic glazed pork loin cooking...I'll be serving it with mushroom rice and a big green salad.  YUM.  I went to the grocery store earlier and got stuff to make hamburger stew for tomorrow...which is like, my favorite thing to eat ever.

  • Today is Sunday right? I've totally lost track in the most awesome way.

Yesterday we drove along Loch Ness and then went on a tour of the Eilean Donan castle (as seen in the movie highlander) and then went to the isle of Skye just to say we did.

Today we slept in and went for a hike in the Scottish highlands. After that we went to a movie and then flew back to England. Tomorrow morning we'll go to Dublin.

Sounds dreamy! I hope your wedding went perfectly!

  • Well I'll go after Wendy's awesome post and say that my weekend sucked. I worked Fri-Sun. It was super busy. I don't think I've sat down since Thursday.

Friday after work, DH and I did go out on a date to Hensleys. It was really good.

Oh, I did get woken up at 4 am this morning to a phone call telling me my little sister got a DUI. That was a fun call home to my mom.

  • My weekend has been pretty good. Friday night H and I drove down to Thackerville to see the Counting Crows at Winstar. Adam Duritz still looks/sounds the same as he did in the '90s, so that was pretty awesome, but I have decided not to attend any more casino concerts. I loathe casinos, and just having to walk through one to get to the venue is a buzzkill for me. That, and the venues themselves are typically pretty sucky at casinos. Bad sound, everyone in chairs, etc. All that to say, it was amazing to be in the same room as the Counting Crows, but I wouldn't recommend seeing a show at Winstar. It's a bit depressing.

Saturday I went to a stepmom meet-up at Evoke, which was great. Then H and I had lunch at the Purple Burro (highly recommend) and went tile shopping at Lowe's. (We found some really great wood-look ceramic tile for only $2.69/ft! I think that's what we'll end up doing throughout most of our house, though we won't start until January. I CANNOT WAIT.) After Lowe's, H took me over to another home store called LifeStyles, which I'd never heard of or been to, and we ended up buying black sconces to replace the hideous brass ones we had before on either side of the garage. Let me tell you ladies, if you're into home decor (and who isn't, honestly), this store is the mecca. It's slightly snobby and expensive, but omg. I could've looked around in there for days. DAYS. After shopping, we came home, H installed the new sconces, and I baked these cinnamon rolls. We finished out the evening watching episodes of Spaced, one of my all-time favorite shows, and drinking wine. It was a lovely day.

Today, I woke up at 11, ate two cinnamon rolls, and watched some crap TV. After lunch, H and I drove up to Tulsa, where I currently sit working on my laptop while he attempts to load up a vintage VW bus he's been working on with a friend. They're just flipping it, and I'm excited to have it back home and sold. Pretty good weekend, overall!

  • Nice, relaxing weekend here! DH got home from working OOT Friday night and we had Stromboli for dinner and vegged out while watching our Friday night shows.

Saturday I did laundry while DH went into work for a few hours in the morning, then we just hung out and watched football all afternoon. Once G went to bed, we watched a couple of movies.

Today has been filled with napping and getting DH's stuff packed for another week OOT *sigh*. Chicken and dumplings are in the crockpot for dinner, yum!

  • Yes Wendy - your honeymoon sounds amazing!

I've been solo this weekend. Went to OKC Friday night to meet my mom, then I went grocery shopping at Sprouts and crashed on my sister's couch. Got up early yesterday to go shopping at the Commissary at Tinker, then I drove back to Stillwater to unload groceries and go to the OSU game. I made myself tacos after the game and crashed out.

Today has been decently productive. Decided to make JJ a felt Christmas tree, so went out in the cold [and the sorta kinda snow - it flurried up here while I was out] to JoAnn's to take advantage of a sale on their felt [and 20% off for military dependents], and I made the tree and decorations this afternoon. Currently finishing up laundry and dishes, then I'll head to bed eventually. :)

  • Friday night we met C's aunt and uncle for dinner then went to the OSU Basketball game.

Saturday we had lunch at Click's in town. C had to work after the OSU football game so he went to work and I browsed at several stores then picked his up and we we went to dinner.

Sunday we were lazy until about 1 when we finally took showers and got around. Had a late lunch at the casino, went to the grocery store then we helped some friends until about 8 with the new salon they are opening. My payment for decorating help was a few facial treatments that my face needed-can't wait to see how well they helped with my acne prone chin in a (since turning 30 I have had some major chin acne) a few days.

  • Friday we took M to see Wreck it Ralph (I think if she was a little older she would have loved it) and then ate at GoGo. Yum!

Saturday it was just M and I most of the day since DH went to the game. I packed away her summer clothes in her dresser and closet, cleaned house, and went grocery shopping.

Sunday was church and a baby shower. We had dinner with the ILs last night and decided that we are going to take a Disney trip next April. I am so excited! I have already planned everything out.

I am so ready to get this week over with so I can go south for Thanksgiving and stuff myself full of food!

  • One of my besties was having a REALLY bad weekend so we met up for dinner on the north side. Well, then, she wanted to go to Edna's, but you all know my snobby self, I was wearing Valentino shoes (new and so gorgeous) and this ridiculous top I got at Neiman's during OU/TX weekend. So I throw this huge fit because, hello, I was NOT going to smokey Edna's dressed like that!  At this point, another girlfriend met up with us and they decided - Okay, Snobby McSnobberson, we are taking you to WALMART to get a new outfit so we can all go to Edna's.  We didn't quite end up at Walmart, but I did end up at Ross which was an experience in itself. Did you all know the Ross at Belle Isle is open until 10:30pm on Saturday night? Well, it is. And I am pretty sure it is to save people like me.

Did you all miss my snobby elitest @ss or what?
