Handheld vac recs?

I have an antique Dustbuster that I need to replace!  Actually, I believe it's an older model Shark...regardless, it's never been any good.  Charge doesn't last long, it's not good on stairs, pet food or hair.

Any recs keeping those requirements in mind?  I'd say, of most importance would be the stair feature and a good charge that lasts.  Thanks!

  • Other people say the charge doesn't last long but I use the Dyson slim and have never run out. We leave it in a closet on the wall and plugged in when not in use. I love Dyson vacuums but they are expensive so keep that in mind. They work great though.

  • I second the Dyson slim. You can buy them refurbished on overstock.com and amazon.com  I bought a refurbished dyson on Overstock and 6 years later its still working great.

Thank you both!  I didn't even think of the Dyson slim - I'll check it out!  I've been using my DC14 since 06 and have never had a problem!
