so it looks like people keep trying to break into our basement

We have a back porch w/a  crawl space underneath.  There is a lattice around the bottom of the porch to block off the crawl space.  Several times in the last few months, DH has found the lattice disturbed.  We can't figure out whether its animals or people trying to break in - ugh.

  • It could be raccoons. They used to always hang out under my parents deck that was only about a foot off the ground. Maybe set up one of those motion detector cameras?
  • It definitely sounds more like animals. I'd like to think that if it were humans, they would give up trying if it didn't work the first time. Raccoons or whatever are not that smart. I like the idea of setting up a motion detector though.

I agree. I would think humans would try alternate routes. If they want to get into your house, they'll find a way. Probably animals.

  • We have a racoon that removed a decent sized piece of fence to make himself a home under our deck. I think chances are it's an animal
