Not sure what my position is really called...
hi all! This is probably going to sound so silly. But the background is this: I originally was working for a marketing company in account management and moved to another company to be closer to home. Originally, my position was account management with some design and PR incorporated. As people left, the company shrunk and now on top of client management I am doing all our overseas production and purchasing. I LOVE working with the overseas vendors and the factories and doing the pruchasing. I also organize all the freight into the USA etc.
Now, I am on the hunt for a new job and I know there is a large market and a lot of money to be madein overseas production. I have a great vendor base out there and a lot of connections in the jewelry industry, plus I have traveled to China many times in my current role so I have the international experience...
But when I search for "purchasing" jobs mostly things that come up (and I am looking nationwide) are for jobs where they are looking for internal purchaseers for domestic items, usually companies like construction etc.
This isn't what I am looking for...
I am looking to do the overseas purchasing or being a leasion (sp?) for the overseas companies and a company here stateside, since I have a lot of experience working with factories on price negioating and product development.
I have also looked for"production" jobs, since tha tis my title. But I kind of think my title is BS and I am more of a purchasing manager or agent.
I can't find any jobs in this area so I know I must be searching a wrong "keyword"
Does anyone else work in this industry? What are some keywords to search when inquiriing about jobs...?
