Re: Thanksgiving Poll!!!

  • Where will you be eating Thanksgiving dinner this year? I actually have no idea yet....either with H's mom or with my parents. I totally forgot that Thanksgiving was so soon so I havent' called anyone to see what the plans are!

Are you cooking/baking anything special? I love to bake so I'll probably make cupcakes or cheesecake...yum!

What's your favorite Thanksgiving food? Turkey..boring!! I don't like stuffing and mashed potatoes are just ok...lol

Do you have any family traditions you do on Thanksgiving? Not really.

Will you go out shopping either at midnight or on the morning of Black Friday? I hope to get some shopping done on Friday. I went out at midnight by myself last year, but I don't really want to do that again, it's too tiring after such a long day!

  • Where will you be eating Thanksgiving dinner this year?

We are going to H's cousin's house. It should have been his mother's turn (she and another family member switch off every year), but she hasn't been feeling well and can't handle the stress of feeding 20 people.

    Are you cooking/baking anything special?

    Nope.

    What's your favorite Thanksgiving food?

Stuffing. I love turkey when it's not dry. And mashed potatoes if they are lumpy and not soupy.

Do you have any family traditions you do on Thanksgiving?

I have to watch Macy's parade. One of these years I would like to go. Just once though.

Will you go out shopping either at midnight or on the morning of Black Friday?

Hell no! I've worked retail too long for that. Now I don't work in a store, and I'd prefer to stay far far far away from one for the next month. Plus I think it's wrong how early stores are opening now. No thank you.

  • Where will you be eating Thanksgiving dinner this year?

At home with H. We can't afford to fly to our parents for Thanksgiving & Christmas, so we always spend Thanksgiving on our own. Which might be why it is one of my favorite holidays ;)

    Are you cooking/baking anything special?

Nope, just the usual- I normally make a turkey breast and all the usual sides/ desserts.

    What's your favorite Thanksgiving food?

Stuffing! For some reason it's just one of those things that I never bother making any other time of the year, so I always looking forward to it at Thanksgiving :)

Do you have any family traditions you do on Thanksgiving?

Not really. Just watching the parade and then Miracle on 34th Street.

Will you go out shopping either at midnight or on the morning of Black Friday?

Most of the time we avoid it like the plague. But this year Best Buy has the phone I want on sale for $48 (as opposed to $200), so we're going to go out to pick that up. Fortunately there isn't a limited supply on them so we won't have to "camp out" or anything to get it ;)

Do you have any family traditions you do on Thanksgiving? Not really. We're especially breaking the tradition by hosting this year.

Will you go out shopping either at midnight or on the morning of Black Friday? NO! No deal is worth waking up or staying up til 1am for! Although we might have MIL & SIL over that night and I REALLY hope they don't want to go shopping!

  • Where will you be eating Thanksgiving dinner this year?  For the 2nd year in a row, I will be eating Thanksgiving dinner in Maryland at my brother's house.  My whole immediate family (mom, dad, sister, brother-in-law, and hubby) will be driving to Maryland from MI the on Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

Are you cooking/baking anything special?  Probably not, my brother and his wife will probably be doing most of the cooking/planning.  I will help out where I can.

What's your favorite Thanksgiving food?  All of it.  Actually I love my Aunt's cream corn, but for the 2nd year in a row I won't be getting it.  I do love stuffing and pies too.

Do you have any family traditions you do on Thanksgiving?  Nope, not really.

Will you go out shopping either at midnight or on the morning of Black Friday?    I am not sure yet.  My mom, sister, and I will probably go shopping at some point that day, but it might not be until the afternoon.

  • Where will you be eating Thanksgiving dinner this year?
At my mom's. I believe we are going non-traditional and having ham, pork roast, stuffing, bread dumplings, potato salad, cranberry sauce, brocolli and cheese sauce and I think I might do something with green beans.

    Are you cooking/baking anything special?
I am not. Too hard with the apartment being such a mess. My mom is making cheese cake and banana split pie.

    What's your favorite Thanksgiving food?
Ummm....  something with green beans :)

Do you have any family traditions you do on Thanksgiving?
We didn't. My parents divorced about 2 months ago and my dad moved to Texas so my mom, brother with his girlfriend, H and I are going to make our own traditions. We are going to put up the Christmas tree on Thanksgiving.

Will you go out shopping either at midnight or on the morning of Black Friday?
I usually go out Friday during the day. Less crazy people and there are still good deals. I can't stay awake long enough to go out at Midnight.

Where will you be eating Thanksgiving dinner this year?  right now it looks like it's just H and I for Thanksgiving and Christmas....no wonder I am in a terrible bahumbug mood this year!

Are you cooking/baking anything special?  I do all the fixings - even when it is just the two of us.  We love the leftovers, so we tend to keep eating it for a week or so after!

What's your favorite Thanksgiving food?  TURKEY & MASHED POTATOES

Do you have any family traditions you do on Thanksgiving?  when we are with my family before we eat we go around the table and say something we are thankful for and it can't be the typicals: GOD, family/friends etc.  It's always interesting to hear what each of us is thankful for.

Will you go out shopping either at midnight or on the morning of Black Friday?  oh my gosh.  H and I did the midnight thing for the first time last year.  It was the CRAZIEST thing I think I have ever witnessed in my life!  H and I were talking about it this year if we should go just for the spectical of it all!  Other than that - no because I ALWAYS work (and I don't even work retail - financials! stupid stock market).

Where will you be eating Thanksgiving dinner this year?

We are going to France to visit MIL.  I'm not sure if we'll have a traditional Thanksgiving meal or not (she's American, but lives in France).

    Are you cooking/baking anything special?

    No!

    What's your favorite Thanksgiving food?

Stuffing and rolls (I love carbs!!)

Do you have any family traditions you do on Thanksgiving?

No, not really.  I've spent it totally alone (when I was single), with family, with DH's family.  Usually we just go visit someone we haven't seen in awhile or stay local and celebrate it with family here.  I'd like to start some of our own traditions now.

Will you go out shopping either at midnight or on the morning of Black Friday?

No, I won't be able to since I'll be in France, but even if I were in the states, I probably wouldn't.  I went once and hated it, and there is nothing that we really need right now that would warrant that headache.  :)

  • Where will you be eating Thanksgiving dinner this year?Don't know yet..which is driving me crazy. If MIL comes down to FL then we will stay in town and eat at H's uncle's house but if MIL doesn't come then we are doing our original plan of driving to South FL for Thanksgiving with my family. Are you cooking/baking anything special? No What's your favorite Thanksgiving food?Hmm this is tough...I would say the turkey and the green bean casserole..and pumpkin pie!Do you have any family traditions you do on Thanksgiving?Watch the parade and football! • Where will you be eating Thanksgiving dinner this year?At my parents' house. The ILs are going to H's cousin's house for TG and will join us at my parents' house for dessert. Are you cooking/baking anything special?I will be bringing a chocolate pumpkin chiffon pie for dessert at my parents' house, but my mom has asked for some help in cooking the whole dinner so I'll be busy all day! What's your favorite Thanksgiving food?Stuffing- by far. Do you have any family traditions you do on Thanksgiving?Other than a prayer before the meal, it is a tradition for us to have very close family over for the dinner (around 1 or 2), then have extended family over for dessert (usually around 4 or 5)Will you go out shopping either at midnight or on the morning of Black Friday?I have plans to shop with my BFF Friday, but we don't usually go until the afternoon. We don't care for the craziness of Black Friday, all the good deals are usually over by the time we get there, but it doesn't matter. So better than standing in line outside in the cold for 12 hours. Girl, please.
