Or is THIS the reason behind the Papa John's price increase?

Popular U.S. pizza chain Papa John's faces a $250 million
class-action lawsuit for blasting customers with illegal text messages.
The plaintiffs allege that Papa John's franchises sent customers a
total of 500,000 unwanted messages in early 2010. The spam texts offered
deals for pizza, and some customers complained they were getting 15 or
16 texts in a row, even during the middle of the night, according Donald
Heyrich, an attorney representing the class.
Just can't catch a break, these guys!

Re: Or is THIS the reason behind the Papa John's price increase?
Aha! There it is.
Eta: also, instead of texts, now they just send 15 e-mails a day. Papa John is one needy motherf?cker.
Maybe he's involved in the Petraeus love triangle (love pentagon?) now too.
...okay, so I stole the 'love pentagon' thing from a FB friend.
I cannot recal the source, but I did hear on the radio a few weeks back that in the first quarter of 2012, more than 200,000 unauthorized texts and calls were made to cell phones with numbers on the do not call list. As a comparison, the announcement said that in 2011, there were 60,000 total unauthorized texts/calls reported for the entire year.
Again, I don't know the source and I think my figures are fairly close to being accurate.
Personally, I do know that I seem to be getting a lot more crap texts this year than ever before.
My assumption is that businesses are hurting for customers and are doing this despite regulations to see if they can boost sales and are taking the risks of being caught and fined.
I believe Payless got in trouble for this very same thing.
I have never been a Papa John's fan. I much prefer Larosa's.
