There is one person on my list that I am having trouble thinking of a gift for this year, so I am hoping you guys have some good ideas!
My brother's BF is a wonderful guy. They've lived together two years and last year he made me this gorgeous piece of art inspired by my hometown and then had it framed. Honestly, it was the most thoughtful, amazing gift I got. I can't even remember what I got him, but it wasn't nearly as great.
So, this year I want to do something good for him, but I am drawing a blank and my brother is no help. Here's what I know he likes: pitt bulls and animal rights(they have one named Luna that they spoil rotten), politics, and cooking. They love to go out bar-hopping and hosting parties. He doesn't really go out to movies or sporting events.
Help! :-)
Re: Gift for Brother's BF
Do you happen to have a picture of their dog? Where I live there is an artist that paints pictures of pets from the photos and they turn out really cool. They may be able to do the same thing with a picture of them. Another possibility could be purchasing a photo session for them with their dog or something along those lines. Not sure how expensive either of these options are.
If you're looking for a less expensive option, you could make a personal gift like a scrapbook of them or maybe put some nice pictures of them in a frame set. Then combine it with a gift card to somewhere they like to shop.
You could also put together a basket with local foods, spices, etc. Good luck!
You could also make a donation to a pit bull rescue in his name. Some people really like sentimental gifts like that! Does he like dog shows? Maybe a Ceasar Milan or Victoria Stilwell DVD set? Or Pittbulls and Paroles DVD?
I also think the dog photo is an adorable gift. You can make them tons of stuff with their dog on website like zazzle and snapfish!
I like the portrait of their dog idea.
Also, you might want to consider donating a Kuranda bed in his honor to a local shelter. http://kuranda.com/donate I think that could be a really touching gesture.
I recently got a really nice dip tray with handwritten recipies as a wedding present. Maybe he would like something like that. It's good because he can make the dips or spreads or even sauces and then serve it to guests he entertains. And the hand written recipies make it a bit more special.
