Employee Christmas gift ideas.. Help
My husband and I own a little company with about 5 employees and they all work outside and with winter being here we wanted to give them a Christmas gift to keep them warm this winter, something little but thoughtful.
I came up with the idea of a jacket with our company name and their name on it, but I am wondering what time of jacket? I don't think fleece is flattering at all :-/ and if you've ever ordered something similar can you recommend the website please?
Also, if you could recommend other personalized ideas such as other type of gifts we can give them.
I need advice and I appreciate anything in advance
thanks ladies
Re: Employee Christmas gift ideas.. Help
Honestly if I was an employee of a small company and was given a jacket with the company logo, I would assume it was a uniform, not a Christmas gift. And feel obligated to wear it whenever I was working. Which would be annoying if it wasn't a style I liked and found comfortable.
I'm not sure what your price range is but with only 5 employees, I'd be more likely to do restaurant gift certificates or something in that vein. A nice treat completely unrelated to work. But that's not personalized so it might not be what you're looking for...
Yeah I was thinking that last night. I see what you mean too.
Well each jacket I had seen where around $50 each so a gift certificate to a restaurant for that amount is a pretty good meal, I think.
If you think of any other unique ideas let me know please. If you can, could you ask your DH since all the employees are guys I would like a guys point of view since my DH just says "yes, that's fine" it's pretty difficult to get his honest opinion.
IMO, men are so difficult, like I once got a certificate for $25 and I was happy, and I think a guy wouldn't really care.
TIA I appreciate your help
As an employee, I wouldn't want anything personalized or a company jacket.
I think an American Express or Visa gift card for $50 would be better, that way they can spend it wherever they like, not just a specific restaurant.
Thats a good one too! I think I like that better.
Thank you
This. I received this as a Christmas gift from a company once and I really appreciated it so I could spend it however I liked. Generally, restaurant GCs are nice, but some people eat a lot of crap during the holidays and probably don't want to go out to eat anytime soon since restaurants aren't always healthy.
Meh, I'm actually going to go the other way with the this. I worked for a small business during college that gave out the company jackets and I really liked it because then I didn't wear my normal stuff to work where it would get dirty.
It sounds like these are similar type businesses so knowing the guys that I worked with a jacket would be good because they might not spend the money for that themselves.
I think they usually gave out carhartt stuff to the guys. I was in the office so I had a mix of that and fleece stuff.
Well the reason I really liked the idea was because since we are a small business I thought it would be a great way for people to get to know our company. And I also believed they would appreciate it.
Where I used to work before they always have a really nice company jacket with the logo and the names.
I'm stuck between the jackets and the visa or GC.

Ran it by DH and he agrees that gift cards are better than clothing. And pointed out that it's not really a "gift" to the employee when you give them something with the company logo. It's really you advertising your business. Even if that isn't your intention, it can be perceived that way.
