Need help party planning...

I have done numerous parties for my kids, even coordinate a yearly convention for 600+ people at work, but I'm struggling with a 60th anniversary party for my grandparents.  I think it's because I really want it organized.  Does anyone have any tips on how to best organize a party plan?  I'm thinking an Excel spreadsheet, or a party planning program or website.  We have the location and date planned, are compiling the guest list (about 75 people), have a handle on the menu, have ideas floating around for the decor.  I just want it fool proof.  It's so easy to plan a huge event at work, because we use a program called cvent and the hotel staff handles a good bit.  I just feel like I'm on my own here, and I really want to do a great job for grandparents. Thanks so much!

  • I am a huge geek when it comes to Excel spreadsheets. I use them to plan all my gatherings, including holidays. I usually have tabs each for guestlist, menu, calendar, and decor. I also have a master shopping list, grouped by store. I think it is simple yet comprehensive.
