Best Blender (under $300)

What brand/model blender do you think is best for a reasonable price?

I would love a Vitamix, but I just can't swallow the $500 right now.

I was using my KitchenAid yesterday and the motor burned out :(

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Ninja.  You can get just the blender for about $100.

I, too, love our new Ninja.  I made butternut squash soup last night, and not only was I able to throw everything in together rather than doing half a time, it was completely blended in about 10 seconds.  Totally blew me away!  It's also much easier to clean that my old glass Cuisinart.

  • I read a review by Cooks Illustrated on blenders recently, and based on their review I'd get another KitchenAid, even though Cooks Illustrated doesn't recommend it, I don't think they tested the latest model. The newer models have an improved jar that won't leak. Unless you blend smoothies every day, then get a Vitamix. You'll burn out every blender under $300 in 6 months to a year.

  • I agree, Ninja all the way! i just got mine for christmas an I make fruit/green smoothies every day. My favorite is Kefir, 1 whole banana, fresh pinapple, a handfull of fresh blueberries and a tablespoon of wheatgerm. Super healthy and very tasty.
